Welcome to High Latitude Hemp
If you discovered us through MMJ Daily, welcome. We are a family-owned, grower-led hemp company in Iceland’s Westfjords, bringing together practical cultivation, plant research and product development.
Our story and research background explain why this work matters to us. We are building knowledge about hemp in Iceland while developing plants and growing methods for a short, cool season.
Icelandic hemp research and outdoor trials
Our northern agriculture programme focuses on early maturity, cold tolerance and reliable seed production. In summer 2026, we carried out a 400-plant outdoor trial in the Westfjords. We recorded growth and development through the season, including plant height, biomass and flower production.
Explore our hemp research and 2026 outdoor trial, with photographs from preparation and field planting through to harvest.
The outdoor trial is a research project. The flower currently offered in our store is grown indoors in Bolungarvík.
